About

I never aspired to be a Crone. Never crossed my mind.

Our cultural images and stories are not encouraging and in fact are generally pretty horrific. So where’s the appeal in that?

My enthusiasm to be a Crone took a while to arrive. It began with appreciation. On my spiritual journey I awakened to the understanding that in wisdom traditions and cultures around the world, old people were not disparaged and discarded. They are revered and valued for their accumulated experience and insight. This was revelatory for me.

As I launch this blog, I am seventy. Some would say that’s not old enough to be Crone. But I am now rooted deeply in this mystical elder landscape. I cherish the sacred encounters that have opened portals to sacred communion with the ancestors and ancient Earth energies. With otherworld energies. For this is the Crone landscape.

This is my spiritual landscape. And I am honored to wander this landscape with you.

My personal life landscapes include a cottage in the west of Ireland, and a forest sanctuary nestled near the coastal waters of Washington State where we have lived for more than forty five years.
